After having the dvd sitting in my bag for weeks, I finally got around to upgrading my laptop to Windows Server 2008 R2 last night.  Looks good, with the Windows 7 User Experience.  Upgrade seems to have gone pretty seamless, even though I had customized server 2008 on my laptop to be more of a workstation experience (have you seen this link? Converting Windows Server 2008 to a Workstation).

Pretty pleased with myself, now I get to have the Windows 7 experience with all of the goodness of Server 2008 (e.g. Hyper-V virtual machines)!
