Upcoming November SharePoint 2010 Presentations, Technical Difficulties

Tags: CincySPUG, SharePoint, SPC09, Workflow

So, having some issues with my machine since I upgraded from Server 2008 to R2.  (I know, ill-advised upgrade since I run server as a workstation OS--but until this glitch, it was working great).  I can't get windows live writer to install properly.  Actually all of the Windows Live Essentials (Live Messenger etc.) are all kinds of screwed up.  Closing in on time for a rebuild/refresh anyway as this machine is starting to get bogged down with all the junk I'm working with.

I will post my SharePoint Conference Aftermath as soon as I figure out how to get some blogging software going.  Writing these entries in the browser sucks, regardless of how great BlogEngine.NET is.

Now... November is going to be insanely busy:

For those of you who didn't make the conference and are in the Ohio/Kentucky area, Microsoft will be running some all day events for customers that will deliver some very solid 2010 content.  Here's subset of the events that I know about:

  • Cincinnati, OH: November 9th

  • Louisville, KY: November 16th

The tentative Agenda for these events is as follows:

I'll be presenting some combination of the Application Platform and Development talks for both the Louisville and Cincinnati events.

In addition I'll be presenting at Technology First's Taste of IT in Dayton, OH on November 12th.  I'll be presenting a breakout session during that day titled: "SharePoint 2010: What do 'Geeks :)' (Practicing Technologists) Need to Know?"  SharePoint 2010: What do 'Geeks :)' (Practicing Technologists) Need to Know?  Topic list for that session will look something like this:

  • New and enhanced ‘out of the box’ features and capabilities
    • Developer tools
    • Authoring tools
    • Workflow capabilities
  • Using SharePoint 2010 as a development platform
  • Exposing 2010 on the internet/extranet
  • How to prepare for 2010 – what can we do now to existing applications to prepare for the upgrade!

BTW, the MSFT events are free, and I think Taste of IT is like 85 bucks but there's a ton of good stuff happening that day.

I don't have any abstract yet, but I'm also pretty sure I'll be speaking SP2010 at CincySPUG for the November meet (First Thursday)

Hopefully, if you are reading this then you are as psyched about SharePoint 2010 as I am, and you can come and join us at some of these events :)
